Roy Christopher was an American production designer and art director.

After graduating from California State University Fresno in 1957, Christopher began his career as an art director, working on The Name of the Game, Chico and the Man, Welcome Back, Kotter, Growing Pains, Frasier, Wings, and Murphy Brown, among many others.

Christopher moved into production design in the late 1970s and worked on designing the sets for many of the same shows for which he provided art direction, as well as Love & War, Just Shoot Me!, NewsRadio, and Becker.

As an art director and production designer, Christopher worked on dozens of Emmy, Oscar, Tony, and Grammy award shows over a 30-year period.

Christopher was honored by the Art Directors Guild in 2004 with a Lifetime Achievement Award, and in 2007 when he received an Honorary Doctor of Fine Arts degree from Fresno State and the California State University.

Christopher was inducted into the Television Academy Hall of Fame in 2017.

Christopher died February 2, 2021. He was 85.
