Ron Glass was a performer best known for the role of Detective Ron Harris on the police-precinct comedy Barney Miller. Glass appeared on 164 episodes of the series from 1975 to 1982, and was nominated for a supporting actor Emmy Award during his final year on the show.

Glass also appeared on the series All in the Family, Maude, Hawaii Five-O, The Bob Newhart Show, The New Perry Mason, Good Times, Sanford and Son, The Streets of San Francisco, Hart to Hart, The New Odd Couple, The Twilight Zone, Family Matters, Friends, Star Trek: Voyager, Agents of Shield and CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.

Additionally, Glass was also known for his role as Shepherd Book on the sci-fi series Firefly. His feature films included Lakeview Terrace, starring Samuel L. Jackson, and Death at a Funeral.

Glass died November 25, 2016, in Los Angeles. He was 71.
