Robert Blackmore
Robert Blackmore was an advertising sales executive for NBC, best known for overseeing the industry’s first billion-dollar upfront.
Blackmore began his career in television as a page and sales service representative for CBS. He later joined NBC as a sales supervisor.
He then climbed the ranks to executive vice president of advertising sales. During his tenure, Blackmore presided over NBC’s record-breaking upfront in 1985. He also handled the ad sales and marketing for NBC’s coverage of the Summer Olympics in 1980, 1988 and 1992.
Blackmore later co-founded Studio One Networks, the first internet syndicated content marketing company.
He died March 9, 2017. He was 90.
