Rich Buckler was a comic book artist and writer best known for creating the character Deathlok. Buckler contributed to both DC and Marvel comic books including a lengthy run on Fantastic Four in the 1970s as well as All-Star Squadron, Batman, The Flash, Jungle Action and The Spectacular Spider-Man.

The cult-favorite character Deathlok, who made his debut on the ABC television series Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., was an American soldier who was fatally injured and brought back to life with cybernetic technology.

Buckler’s creations also appeared on episodes of Young Justice and Ultimate Spider-Man.
