John Bernecker was a stuntman and occasional performer best known for his work on the comic book movies Fantastic Four, Logan and Black Panther.

Bernecker also performed or coordinated stunts for the films Jonah Hex, The Mechanic, Green Lantern, Battleship, Looper, Olympus Has Fallen, Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire and Mockingjay — Parts 1 & 2, Ride Along, 22 Jump Street, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Get Hard, Goosebumps, The 5th Wave, Keanu, Get Out and The Fate of the Furious.

Additionally, Bernecker contributed to the television series The Vampire Diaries, Salem, The Astronaut Wives Club, Scream Queens, Into the Badlands, The Magicians, 24: Legacy and Claws.

He also had small roles in the films American Ultra and Logan, as well as in the television series True Detective and Salem.

Bernecker died from injuries related to a stunt fall on July 12, 2017, in Atlanta, Georgia. He was 33.
