She was best known for creating the television series, The Backyardigans, which won three Daytime Emmy awards. Burgess worked as an executive producer on shows including Bubble Guppies and Little Bill and as a production manager on Blue's Clues and Gullah, Gullah Island. She also co-produced the television movie "Bubble Puppy's Fin-tastic Fairytale Adventure."
