Early Bird Emmys: Voice-Over, Animation

The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences has announced the Emmy Award winners in the Outstanding Voice-Over Performance as well as Individual Achievement in Animation for the 55th Annual Emmy Awards.

Hank Azaria was awarded an Emmy for Outstanding Voice-Over Performance. The award was presented for Azaria's performance as various characters on The Simpsons, in the episode "Moe Baby Blues."

And for Outstanding Individual Achievement in Animation, Emmys were awarded to:

Samurai Jack — Scott Wills, for production design on episode XXV and Dan Krall for layout artist on episode XXXII.

Through A Child’s Eye: September 11, 2001 — Maciek Albrecht, for animation of "Imagine," and "Turn, Turn, Turn" segments.

These Emmys are juried award categories, which have no nominations. The selections are made by a panel of expert judges. The animation judges are members of the Academy's animation peer group, while the voice-over panel consists of both animators and performers with voice-over credits. Juried award winners are traditionally announced before the Emmy Awards and presented at the Creative Arts ceremony, scheduled September 13 at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles.
