Norma Provencio Pichardo Named Executive Director of Television Academy Foundation
In her new post, Provencio Pichardo brings more than 15 years of experience to the charitable arm of the Television Academy.
North Hollywood, California — (June 9, 2010) — After an extensive search, the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Foundation has hired Norma Provencio Pichardo as its new Executive Director. Provencio Pichardo has more than 15 years of experience in building partnerships, leading nonprofit organizations, fundraising, and managing education programs in the entertainment industry.
The Foundation is the charitable arm of the Television Academy, and its many programs include the College Television Awards, the renowned Student Internship Program, the Fred Rogers Memorial Scholarship, the Archive of American Television — an ambitious collection of interviews with great figures in television history — and the annual Golf Tournament and Charity Auction fundraising events.
Provencio Pichardo will report to the Television Academy Foundation Chairman, Jerry Petry, and to Television Academy COO, Alan Perris.
“We believe that we’ve found the perfect person to continue to lead the Foundation toward future growth and opportunity,” said Perris. “Throughout her career, Norma has expanded and strengthened every organization that she has been part of, and we’re confident that she can do the same for us.”

Provencio Pichardo joins the Foundation from Workplace Hollywood, a nonprofit organization which assists individuals from historically underrepresented communities in Los Angeles to effectively compete for opportunities in the entertainment industry. Provencio Pichardo served as Executive Director, leading the organization in its fundraising and organizational development. Previously, she served as Vice President, Western Region, with the Emma L. Bowen Foundation for Minority Interests in Media, and prior to that was CFO for the Fulfillment Fund. She will begin her new role later this month.
