New Foundation Executive Director Terri L. Clark Appointed

Terri L. Clark has been named Executive Director of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Foundation, it was announced today by Steve Mosko, Chairman of the Television Academy's Foundation and Todd P. Leavitt, President, Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Foundation.

In this newly created position, Clark, who reports directly to Leavitt, will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Academy's Foundation, including the programs of its Education Programs & Services Department and the activities of the Archive of American Television. In addition, she will be instrumental in working closely with Mosko and Leavitt on new initiatives, as well as spearheading the Foundation’s fundraising efforts.

"Terri brings a unique combination of skills with her many accomplishments in the non-profit sector and her personal background in the arena of television production," said Leavitt. "The Foundation has a reputation for outstanding education and archival programs, and we anticipate an era of dynamic forward movement under Terri’s supervision.”

Prior to joining the Foundation, Clark was Executive Director for the Literacy Network of Greater Los Angeles, where she oversaw day-to-day operations of a coalition of more than 250 adult, family workplace and children's literacy programs. She helped establish Southern California Reads, the organization's flagship program created with the Verizon Foundation, to generate public awareness, expand resources, raise funds and strengthen the capacity of literacy providers throughout the region. She also spearheaded Literacy@ Work: the L.A. Workforce Literacy Project, a public/private partnership initiated by Los Angeles Mayor James Hahn and managed by the Literacy Network.

Before that, Clark was the Managing Director for Voices in Harmony, where she managed operations and community outreach for the youth arts organization dedicated to providing positive role models for at-risk teens. From 1998 to 2001, she was the Regional Program Director for Pen Center USA West, where she planned and promoted a variety of grant-funded public programs, workshops, readings and panels for the non-profit writers organization.

From 1990 to 1998, Clark worked for Trilogy Entertainment Group, where she served as Senior Vice President of Development and managed more than fifty feature film and television projects in various stages of development at Columbia, Disney, FOX, MGM/USA, Spelling, Paramount, TNT, Sony and Warner Bros.

Commenting on Clark’s new position, Mosko said, "These are very exciting times for the Foundation, and we are delighted to have an executive of Terri's caliber on board who will play an important role in our growth."
