Jim Henson Wall Sculpture to be Unveiled

THE ACADEMY OF TELEVISION ARTS & SCIENCES'
HALL OF FAME PLAZA

WHAT:  Jim Henson, creator behind television's most memorable puppets including "The Muppets," "The Fraggles" and the residents of Sesame Street will be honored by the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences at a wall sculpture dedication ceremony at the Television Academy's Hall of Fame Plaza

WHO:  Dick Askin, Chairman and CEO of the Television Academy; Dick Stiles, Hall of Fame Sculptor, Phil Wayne, Chair, Sculpture Committee and Lisa Henson, daughter of Jim Henson and Co-CEO of The Jim Henson Company.

BACKGROUND:  Henson was inducted into the Television Academy's Hall of Fame in 1987.  The bronze wall sculpture, measuring 7'1" high x 6" wide and weighing 1200 lbs., has been installed on the west-facing wall of the Academy Foundation’s Leonard H. Goldenson Theatre and depicts Henson with some of his famous creations.
