59TH PRIMETIME EMMY® AWARDS
NOMINATIONS REVEALED
Telecast Airs Live Sunday, September 16 at 8:00 pm (ET/PT) on FOX
North Hollywood, CA, July 19, 2007 On Sunday, September 16 at 8:00 pm (ET/PT) the telecast awarding Primetime Emmys in 27 categories will be presented before a black-tie audience and televised by the FOX Television Network from the Los Angeles Shrine Auditorium. Complete nominations list available below.
The 59th Primetime Emmy® Awards telecast will be executive-produced by Ken Ehrlich and directed by Bruce Gowers. The Television Academy's Governors Ball will follow the telecast from the Shrine Exhibition Hall, adjacent to the auditorium.
60% New Faces Among the 2007
Primetime Emmy® Nominees
Of the 54 nominations for comedy and drama programs as well as lead and supporting performers, 33 were not included among last year’s nominees -- a 60% rate of fresh faces and shows.
New nominees include Ugly Betty, Entourage and 30 Rock in comedy series programs, and Heroes along with Boston Legal in the drama series category.
Newcomers in the performer categories include Minnie Driver in The Riches, Sally Field in Brothers & Sisters, America Ferrera in Ugly Betty, Tina Fey and Alec Baldwin in 30 Rock, and Ricky Gervais in Extras.
Primetime Creative Arts Awards to Air on E!
On Saturday, September 8, also at the Shrine Auditorium, 63 awards “categories” (a single award) and “areas” (possibility of one, more than one or no award) will be handed out at the black-tie Primetime Creative Arts Awardsexecutive-produced by Lee Miller and John Moffitt with Spike Jones, Jr. producing and Chris Donovan directing.
The awards presentation will be televised on E! on Saturday, September 15, 2007 at 8 pm (ET/PT).

Emmy® Awards in Juried Areas
Additional awards may also be given for the four "juried areas" (no nominations) of
- Costumes for a Variety or Music Program
- Voice-Over Performance
- Individual Achievement in Animation
- Interactive Television
In the Interactive Television Programming Juried Area five finalists have been voted into contention in both Area One (Programming) and Area Two (Service):
- Finalists for Area One are Heroes Interactive, DirecTV Interactive Sports, The Jericho Experience, The Fallen Alternative Reality Game and Big Brother Goes Mobile.
- Finalists for Area Two are MLB Mosaic, Current TV, BravoTV.com, Disney Channel Broadband Video Player and Yahoo Fantasy Football Television Tracker.
One, more than one or no award can be given in a juried area. There are no nominations. The finalists are not to be counted as nominees. The announcement of one, more than one or no winner will be made at a later date early to mid-August.
Two additional awards may also be given for Engineering Development and the Governors Award. These awards, if any, will be announced later this month.
Finalization of Nominations Rosters, Producers Eligibility
Nomination rosters will be finalized during the period July 19 to August 2, 2007. The rosters may be revised in cases where names or titles are incorrect, or appeals for changesincluding the addition or removal of namesare approved by the Primetime Awards Committee.
Producer eligibility is based on both title and function. A review of title and function will be conducted by the Producers, Non-Fiction and Animation Peer Groups, and the nominees in the program categories will be announced during the week of July 30.
Selection of Winners by Peer Panels, Secret Ballot
Nominations were made by active Television Academy members who voted for programs and other peer categories of their expertise. Peer panels made up of active Academy members will screen nominations during the month of July and August and, in secret ballot, select the Primetime Emmy winners.
