Support Television's Future
As chairman of the Academy, I am proud to lead an organization committed to honoring excellence and celebrating the cultural significance of our medium. This year, our Academy awarded Emmys in 113 categories of competition, over three separate nights, including our Primetime Awards telecast and, for the first time, two Creative Arts Award shows. Just a few weeks ago, we capped off the 68th Emmy Awards by honoring the science that makes television possible at the Engineering Emmys.
Despite the excitement of Emmy season, I am equally energized by the extraordinary work of our Foundation. Over my five years as chairman, our Foundation has opened thousands of doors of opportunity for interns in varied disciplines of television, for College Television Award winners in genres like comedy, drama, news and reality, for television faculty who want to better train students, and for students across the country who gather in college classrooms and auditoriums to learn about this most exciting industry.
The New Destination Campaign building phase came to a close with the opening of the Saban Media Center and Wolf Theatre in June. Since then, we have been dedicated to building a significant endowment to support the important work of our Foundation, which endeavors to create a diverse pipeline of talent for our industry. You can ensure a remarkable future for our medium by making a gift to support this mission. Your contribution to the endowment component of the New Destination Campaign will help our Foundation as it identifies, inspires, and cultivates the talent that will drive our industry forward for generations to come. Would you join us today to build a stronger future for both our Foundation and our industry?
I invite you to "take your seat" in our world-class Wolf Theatre with your endowment contribution of $25,000, $10,000, or $5,000, or by making a gift at any level meaningful to you here. For additional information or to inquire about naming opportunities, I invite you to contact Karla Loor Kitchel, Senior Director of Strategic Partnerships and Marketing for our Foundation.
It has been a privilege to serve as your chairman for the past five years. Together, we have accomplished so much—a broader vision, new services and expanded outreach to our members and a new extraordinary campus. I am grateful to our membership — all 22,000 of you — for your commitment to a dynamic future for our Academy and our industry. I can't wait to see what the next five years will bring!
Thank you for your partnership and consideration,
