JOHN SHAFFNER NEW CHAIRMAN OF THE ACADEMY
OF TELEVISION ARTS & SCIENCES
New Officers Announced; Terms Begin January 2008
North Hollywood, CA, Nov. 15, 2007 The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences’ officers were elected by the Board of Governors last night.

The organization’s vice chairman, John Shaffner (Production Designer, Shaffner Stewart) became the Television Academy's new chair elect.
Shaffner replaces outgoing chairman Dick Askin, who was elected chairman in 2003 and re-elected in 2005.
Shaffner was elected second vice chair in 2001 and has been vice chair of the Television Academy since 2003.
