TO ANNOUNCE NOMINATIONS FOR THE
58th ANNUAL PRIMETIME EMMY® AWARDS

Primetime Awards Telecast to Air Live on NBC Sunday, August 27


North Hollywood, CA, May 23, 2006 – Emmy® Award winners Brad Garrett and Julia Louis-Dreyfus will join Dick Askin, Chairman and CEO of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, to announce nominations for the 58th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards live on Thursday, July 6 at 5:39 a.m. at the Academy’s Leonard H. Goldenson Theatre in North Hollywood.

Nominees in the top 11 categories will be revealed in the four-minute live ceremony.  For the sixteenth consecutive year, Douglass M. Stewart, Jr. will be producing the event.
 
Brad Garrett received three Emmy Awards and six nominations for his portrayal of Robert Barone on the hit series Everybody Loves Raymond for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series.

In addition, he earned an Emmy nomination and a Screen Actors Guild Nomination for Outstanding Actor in a Movie or Mini-Series for his role of Jackie Gleason in the critically acclaimed film Gleason.

Among Garrett's other television credits are stints on Roseanne, Mad About You and Seinfeld.  Garrett will next be heard in Pixar/Disney's animated film Ratatouille and will be seen starring in the Warner Bros. feature Music and Lyrics By with Hugh Grant and Drew Barrymore.  He will also star in Fox’s new comedy series, Til Death.
 
Julia Louis-Dreyfus
Julia Louis-Dreyfus, who currently stars in the CBS sitcom The New Adventures of the Old Christine, earned worldwide acclaim for her portrayal of Elaine Benes on the hit series Seinfeld.

She received an Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series, a Golden Globe Award, five Screen Actors Guild Awards and four American Comedy Awards during the show's nine-year run. 

Louis-Dreyfus' other television credits include a recurring role in Arrested Development and playing herself in a handful of episodes of Curb Your Enthusiasm.  She also starred in the series Watching Ellie and lent her voice to the television movie Animal Farm.
 
This year, Emmy nominations will be presented from a state-of-the-art high-definition set created by Television Academy Vice Chair and multiple-Emmy-winning production designer John Shaffner and spearheaded by Paul Kaufman, Chair, National Awards Show Committee.

Produced by NBC Universal Television, the 58th Annual Primetime Emmy® Awards telecast is set to air on Sunday, August 27 (8:00-11:00 p.m. EST) on NBC, originating from the historic Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles.
