The Television Academy Foundation offers a variety
of programs for college students and professors, as
well as many informational opportunities for the
general entertainment community.


College Student Internship Program

The College Student Internship Program offers thirty-five eight week paid ($4,000) summer internships in twenty-nine categories of television production work.

For more than ten consecutive years, this national competition has been selected as one of the top ten internship programs of any kind in the Unites States by the Princeton Review's "America's Top Internships."

All internships are served during the summer season in the Los Angeles region.



College Television Awards Gala & Screening

The Annual College Television Awards
 

The Annual College Television Awards honors the nation's best in film, video and digital works for outstanding student-produced films and videos.

Honored at a gala event and screening in Los Angeles each spring, winners are mentored by television industry professionals and receive cash prizes.

The Fred Rogers Memorial Scholarship

The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, in association with Ernst & Young LLP, has established a scholarship in honor of Fred Rogers, the creator and long-time host of Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood.

The scholarship is intended to support and encourage an aspiring upper division or graduate student to pursue a career in children’s media that furthers the values and principles of Fred Rogers’ work.


Faculty Seminar

In November of each year, the Academy Foundation hosts a five-day Faculty Seminar for twenty college professors selected from a nationwide search.

The Seminar offers panel discussions, production and post production visitations, which focus on primetime telecommunications. The purpose is to expose college media teachers to aspects of the industry, which can only be experienced in the Los Angeles area.


Visiting Professionals Program

The Visiting Professionals Program provides television professionals to colleges and universities nationwide for lectures, workshops and seminars on virtually every area of the television industry. The visiting professionals are members of the Academy representing all 27 peer groups.


DEBUT Newsletter

The Education Programs Department publishes DEBUT, a newsletter that is distributed throughout the year to college students, teachers and Academy members to inform and update them on the status of the Academy Foundation’s education programs. Each issue announces competitions and programs and includes news of past interns, awards winners and seminar delegates.
