Sound Editors
Eileen Horta
Eileen Horta began working as a sound editor in 1977, when Horta Editorial & Sound Inc. opened for business. She worked primarily in animation for Hanna-Barbera and Chuck Jones, and on television movies for EMI and CBS. She then expanded into picture editing, working on animated specials for Chuck Jones. At MTM, Horta acted as co-supervisor of sound editing on Hill Street Blues, Remington Steele and Cagney and Lacey. Horta won her first Emmy for the pilot of Hill Street Blues, and a second Emmy for the same series. She received two additional Emmy nominations for Hill Street and the pilot of L.A. Law. Last year she was nominated for HBO’s John Adams. Currently she is supervising the FX series Rescue Me and Secret Life of the American Teenager for ABC Family.
Edward Fassl
Edward Fassl has over twenty-four years’ experience in audio and video postproduction for film and television. He has been a sound editor and supervising sound editor on both television and feature films, and served over eight years as manager of Laser Pacific Digital Sound Services, one of the first fully digital audio postproduction facilities in Hollywood. He is currently director of sound services at Larson Studios in Hollywood. Fassl’s experience as a sound editor, supervising sound editor and facilities manager has given him the knowledge to well represent the sound editing community. He is continuously looking ahead to the ever-changing requirements of theatrical, internet and home audio environments. A twenty-year member of the Motion Picture Editors Guild, Fassl has earned multiple Primetime Emmy and MPSE Golden Reel Award nominations, and is the recipient of two MPSE Golden Reel awards for sound editing.
