Stuart Nisbet was an actor who appeared in dozens of television series and films during a career that spanned nearly five decades.

The Los Angeles native grew up in Bakersfield, California, and studied acting Los Angeles City College and Cal State Los Angeles. He began his career in 1960 with a role in The Tab Hunter Show and continued working for the next 40-plus years.

His long list of television credits included Dennis the Menace, Route 66, The Twilight Zone, Gunsmoke, Bonanza, Ben Casey, The FBI, The Munsters, Dr. Kildare, The Man from U.N.C.L.E., Bewitched, Mission: Impossible, The Wild Wild West, The Monkees, Get Smart, The Virginian, The Partridge Family, Love, American Style, Mannix, Columbo, Adam-12, The Rockford Files, McMillan and Wife, Barnaby Jones, T.J. Hooker, L.A. Law, The Golden Girls, Baywatch, The Practice and numerous others.

He also appeared in many feature films, including For Pete's Sake, The Graduate, Games, Angel in My Pocket, In the Heat of the Night, Slither, Hearts of the West and Casino.

In addition to his work as a performer, he co-founded the casting agency Baker-Nisbet, Inc.

Nisbet died on June 23, 2016, in Glendale, California. He was 82.
