Rod Daniel was a director best known for helming the Michael J. Fox starrer Teen Wolf. The 1985 box-office hit featured the then 24-year-old star as a high school student who learns that he — and his father — are werewolves. The movie debuted at number two, second only to Back to the Future, which also starred Fox.
Daniel worked most often in television, however, and helmed episodes of WKRP in Cincinnati, Magnum, P.I., Harper Valley P.T.A., Teachers Only, Filthy Rich, Newhart, The Duck Factory, Mary, Caroline in the City, Boston Common, Suddenly Susan, Everybody Loves Raymond and Men Behaving Badly.
He also served as a producer on WKRP and The Duck Factory, and was nominated for three Emmy Awards, all of which were for his work on WKRP; two as a producer and one as a director.
Daniel also directed other light, comedic films, including Like Father Like Son, starring Dudley Moore and Kirk Cameron; K-9, starring Jim Belushi; The Super, starring Joe Pesci; and Beethoven’s 2nd, with Charles Grodin and Bonnie Hunt.
