Len Cochrane

Len Cochrane was a pioneer of children’s television in Canada. He brought American cartoons including Thundercats, Pink Panther and Scooby Doo to Canada, as well as TBS’s Cartoon Network.

Cochrane launched Teletoon Canada, a cable kids channel, in 1997, bringing more classic American cartoons to Canada including The Jetsons, Cow and Chicken, Thundercats, G.I. Joe, Transformers, Jonny Quest, Flash Gordon and The Avengers.

Eventually Cochrane ran five Canadian kids cable channels including Teletoon Retro and Cartoon Network Canada.

Cochrane died January 24, 2017, in Mississauga, Ontario. He was 71.
