Kathy Fortine was an associate director best known for her contribution to the ABC late-night talk show Jimmy Kimmel Live!, which she worked on for more than a decade.
Additionally, Fortine served as an associate director on the television shows You Don’t Know Jack, Survivor, Rock Star: Supernova, Last Comic Standing and American Idol, as well as the 2008 Miss America Pageant.
She also worked as a production manager for the television documentary The Road to Hollywood, and the TV special Jerry Lewis Stars Across America.
Fortine attended Pepperdine University, where she studied music, and graduated from California State University Long Beach, where she earned a degree in television production. She got her start as a page for the CBS comedy WKRP in Cincinnati.

In a Facebook post upon her passing, Fortine's father noted that she earned multiple Emmy nominations for her work as a musical director, and won for her contributions to the telecasts of both the Academy Awards and the Emmy Awards.
Fortine died February 19, 2016, in Burbank, California. She was 56.
