George "The Animal" Steele was a professional wrestler known for going from playing a villain to a good guy over the course of two decades in the ring.

Steele also appeared in the Tim Burton film Ed Wood, as the Swedish wrestler and actor Tor Johnson. Additionally, he had roles in the films Blowfish, Small Town Conspiracy, South of Heaven and Boston Girls.

Steele appeared regularly on TV wrestling programs, including WrestleMania, WWF Hall of Fame, WWE Sunday Night Heat, WWE Raw, World Wrestling Federation, WWF All-Star Wrestling, WWF Championship Wrestling, WWF Challenge and WWF Superstars.
