Gary DeCarlo was a singer, songwriter and musician best known for co-writing and singing the lead on the band Steam's 1969 hit “Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye.”

At the time of the single's release, Steam didn't actually exist. The band was hired to promote the track, even though none of them actually contributed to the single. The song has since become an anthem at sports arenas and has been covered by the Supremes, Bananarama, the Nylons and Kristinia DeBarge.

The song has also been featured on soundtracks for both films and television series, including Cheers, Ally McBeal, The Simpsons, House, Medium and Dancing with the Stars, as well as the movies Remember the Titans, Raising Helen, The Internship and Million Dollar Arm.
