Bruce Forsyth was an English television presenter, actor, comedian and writer, best known for hosting Play Your Cards Right, Strictly Come Dancing and The Generation Game.

Forsyth also appeared on the series Mystery and Imagination, The Muppet Show, Magnum, P.I. and Slinger’s Day.

He came to British attention in the mid-1950s through the television series Sunday Night at the London Palladium. He went on to host a number of game shows, including The Price Is Right and You Bet!

In 2012 Forsyth was given the Guinness World Record for having the longest career of any male television entertainer, which began with an appearance in 1939 on BBC’s Come and Be Televised, when he was 11 years old.

Forsyth died August 18, 2017, in Wentworth Estate, Virginia Water, Surrey, England. He was 89.
