Brock Little

Brock Little was a professional surfer who went on to become a prolific stunt performer and stunt coordinator for film and television. The athlete and California native moved with his family to Hawaii at the age of three, and began surfing at the age of seven. Little’s surfing led to him being featured in more than 50 surf movies, videos and documentaries, including Amazing Surf Stories, Surfers: The Movie, The Search II, and Endless Summer II.

He began working regularly as a stuntman beginning in 1998, earning his first credit for stunts on the film In God’s Hands (in which he also appeared), about three professional surfers: the fading, current and future stars of the sport.

Little also worked in stunts on the films Pearl Harbor, starring Ben Affleck, Kate Beckinsale and Josh Hartnett; Training Day, starring Denzel Washington and Ethan Hawke; Bad Company, starring Anthony Hopkins and Chris Rock; Windtalkers, starring Nicolas Cage; Tears of the Sun, starring Bruce Willis; Lords of Dogtown, starring Heath Ledger; Live Free or Die Hard, starring Willis; Tropic Thunder, starring Ben Stiller, Jack Black and Robert Downey Jr.; The Tempest, starring Helen Mirren; Soul Surfer; and Michael Bay’s Transformers, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen and Transformers: Dark of the Moon.

For television, Little contributed as a stunt performer or coordinator on the series Rocky Point, Beyond the Break and John from Cincinnati, as well as the TV movies Flirting with Forty, starring Heather Locklear; Deadly Honeymoon; and Special Delivery, in which Little also had a small role.

He was nominated twice by the Screen Actors Guild in the category of outstanding performance by a stunt ensemble in a motion picture, for Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen and Transformers: Dark of the Moon.

Also a writer, he contributed more than 30 articles to Surfer and Surfing magazines.

Little died from liver cancer on February 18, 2016, in Oahu, Hawaii. He was 48.
