Barbara Tarbuck

Barbara Tarbuck was an actress best known for her roles on General Hospital and American Horror Story. On the former she played Lady Jane Jacks for more than a decade, and on the latter she had a five-episode arc as Mother Superior Claudia.

Tarbuck also appeared on a wide variety of hit series including The Waltons, The Incredible Hulk, Charlie’s Angels, Dallas, Little House on the Prairie, Quincy M.E., Lou Grant, Newhart, M*A*S*H, St. Elsewhere, Cagney & Lacey, The Twilight Zone, Dynasty, Highway to Heaven, Falcon Crest, The Golden Girls, Knots Landing, L.A. Law, 21 Jump Street, Dragnet, Santa Barbara, Star Trek: The Next Generation, Quantum Leap, Picket Fences, The Practice, ER, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Judging Amy, Crossing Jordan, Star Trek: Enterprise, Six Feet Under, NYPD Blue, Without a Trace, Cold Case, NCIS, Nip/Tuck, Medium, CSI: NY, General Hospital, Glee, Mad Men and Dexter.

She also worked often in regional theater and on Broadway, including the original production of Neil Simon's Brighton Beach Memoirs.

Tarbuck died December 26, 2016, in Los Angeles. She was 74.
