Year after year, the Primetime Emmys® honor television’s greatest talents in an extraordinary fashion. For the sixth year, Architectural Digest is honored to play its own role in Hollywood’s big night by designing the Architectural Digest Greenroom—one that is as “green” as it is glamorous.
The magazine originated the concept of a high-design backstage haven for Emmy presenters—an exclusive lounge for relaxing before their stage cues.
The 2007 greenroom was envisioned by AD 100 interior designer Timothy Corrigan with extensive efforts to use ecologically sensitive furnishings while creating a well-appointed space.
The resourceful design includes wood-paneled walls constructed with reclaimed pine from a local high school stadium.
The greenroom design is inspired by an English country living room, “combining 18th-century antiques with the latest TV technology,” Corrigan explains. “These influences mix with a casual California attitude and eco-friendly elements to round out the form and functionality of the room.”
Architectural Digest is noted for its exclusive home coverage, including Emmy nominees such as Michael Imperioli, Kelsey Grammer and William H. Macy & Felicity Huffman.
Fit for a group of bright stars, this year’s greenroom adds a splash of style to the backstage scene.

L.A.- and Paris-based Timothy Corrigan specializes in designs with an elegant European tone tempered with California ease. He came to the interior design world after a successful career in advertising, when a weekend hobby turned into a flourishing business.
His designs reflect the belief that you don’t have to sacrifice style or quality to achieve a rich environment that is kinder to the surrounding world. One current project: a Los Angeles house that will be “totally ‘green’ down to the recycled insulation.”
