Back to index
Hal Eisner
Hal Eisner has worked as a television reporter in Los Angeles for over a quarter-century, and is currently a member of the on-air news staff at KTTV-KCOP (FOX11/MY13). Hal is in his second term as Los Angeles Area Vice Chair. Besides multiple terms on his peer group’s Executive Committee over the years, Eisner has served the Television Academy as a three-term governor of the Los Angeles Area Peer Group, as a member Television Cares and Membership Committees and as co-chair of the Los Angeles Area Awards Committee. For seven years Eisner was executive producer of the Los Angeles Area Emmy Awards show. Under his guidance, the Los Angeles Area Emmys became more of a celebrity-based program following in the footsteps of the Primetime show, was webcast four times and broadcast on local television as a highlight special. Last year he was the chair of the Television Academy’s Governors Award Committee and is serving in the same capacity this year. Eisner is also president of the Associated Press Television Radio Association; has his own website, HalEisner.com; has founded nationally recognized mentoring programs aimed at helping aspiring broadcasters; and has won numerous journalism awards, including three Emmys and the Associated Press’s Mark Twain Award for Reporter of the Year.
